Club Description: Quail Valley Men’s Golf Club is a relaxed club with the emphasis on the fun and not the competition. The club plays every Saturday morning (yes, rain or shine) with tee times beginning between 7:30 and 8:00 AM. Member entry fees are redistributed throughout the year in the form of credit at the Quail Valley Pro Shop based on the results of weekly games – payouts are for both gross and net. Club credit may be used for almost anything at the pro shop except greens fees.
Club credit is not awarded each week but it is awarded frequently – see the web site www.ghin.com/eclub/qvmc for details of each week’s activities and results from the past week’s games (the calendar is the easiest spot to find this information). Games include individual stroke play (sweeps), match play, 2-man best ball either pick your partner or blind draw, stableford, etc.
There is an optional cash game each week as well. Payout is both gross and net based on the number of entries. The cash game is always individual stroke play. There are four major events each year where the cash buy-in is doubled and the awards are also doubled. There are several year long competitions as well as the weekly events.
These include player-of-the-year which is a point-based competition based on net finishes each week, low gross average, low net average, and the Quail Challenge where three holes are scored each week with the best net score for the four rotations through the holes determining the winner.
